Name’s Richard, but a lot of the band knows me by my last name, Segovia! I’m from Germantown, MD in Montgomery County. I’m currently a junior in the Music Ed program here at Towson, though this is only my second year here as a transfer student. This will be my second year marching EVER, and I’m excited to bring all that I’ve learned in the past year back to our wonderful section. I earned my Associate degree in Music at Montgomery College, and am seeking a Bachelor’s and beyond in Music Ed and Trombone Performance. I am Hispanic: both of my parents are from the tiny Latin American country of El Salvador.
Though it is only my second year marching at Towson, let alone marching in general, I absorbed a lot from our 2012 SMAC, as well as the veteran marchers, and I want to build on top of that for our returning members as well as any new family members. And when I say family, I mean it!! I and fellow SMAC member and trombonist Andy Dawson can’t emphasize how much we want our dedication and discipline be matched with wholesome fun and appreciation for others within the section/band. I hope to bring my musical experiences off the marching field into our face-melting sound. Let’s go, TUMB!
