Lauren is a junior majoring in biochemistry with a minor in music performance from Eldersburg, Maryland. She started mellophone as a freshman and is now returning for her third year in the Towson University Marching Band and her first year as SMAC. Her primary instrument is clarinet, which she has been playing since fourth grade. Throughout high school, Lauren participated in many community ensembles as well as All-County and All-State ensembles. She participated in marching band for all four years of high school and was drum major for three. In college, Lauren has continued to play clarinet in the symphonic band.
Outside of band, she is involved in the Tri-Beta Biology Honors Society, Young Adult Cancer Support club and she volunteers at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC). She is a member of the Honors College and is a Freshman Development Group leader as well as a recruitment committee member. Lauren aspires to become a doctor or biomedical researcher. In her free time, Lauren likes to spend time with friends and family, run and go hiking.
